just got done reading John Green’s Looking For Alaska. i love it & daymm was i hooked. even when i told myself to slow down, i finished reading it in 5 hours. first time this year i’ve been able to finish a book that fast. :)) at first i was kinda reluctant to read this cause by the title, it really didnt sound that appealing (to me!, hahah) but then i’ve been reading so much reviews about the book & there’s quite a hype about it here on Tumblr so naturally i was intrigued. i’ve seen a few cover versions of the book but i love the version i have. been looking for it for months & when i saw it on Book Depository i just had to buy it… pretty covers make for good reading. ;)
i make it a point to quote just one or two or at most three lines that stick with me when reading a book but with this one as you can see from my previous entries, i was on a quoting spree.. could’ve quote more but that’ll spoil the story then for those who have not read it. heheh.
& soo, i LOVE this book! i like that it was divided into two sections: the “before” & the “after”. quite interesting actually & the twist in the middle of the story was so unexpected that i was riveted hence i couldnt stop reading. hahah. i cried, i laughed out loud reading this.. i especially like how five very different individuals ‘Pudge, Colonel, Alaska, Takumi & Lara’ could be bind together so well to keep a strong friendship going on.. the way the author writes is really provoking that you cant help but just feel each & every emotion of the characters & John Green may just be able to knock off Nicholas Sparks as my favourite author. he definitely comes in the second spot. ;)
